WESTERN REGIONAL MINISTER RECEIVES TRANSPORT MINISTER ON RAILWAY REVITALIZATION MISSION

The Western Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Nelson, earlier today, Friday, April 24, 2026, received the Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, during a working visit to the Western Region.

The Transport Minister indicated that his visit was aimed at advancing efforts to reactivate the Sekondi–Takoradi–Kojokrom Railway Line, a key transportation corridor with significant potential to improve mobility, facilitate commerce, and support economic growth in the region.

The proposed reactivation of the railway line forms part of the Government’s broader commitment to strengthening transportation infrastructure and promoting sustainable development. The initiative is expected to enhance connectivity among communities, improve the movement of goods and people, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the Western Region. The visit underscores the Government’s resolve to revitalize the country’s rail transport sector and leverage it as a catalyst for national and regional development.
