A donation by Olam Food Ingredients Ghana Limited to the Egyam Children’s Home has highlighted the importance of corporate citizenship and collective responsibility in supporting vulnerable children. Western Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Nelson, who witnessed the presentation, commended the company for extending its support beyond business to touch lives and strengthen communities. He stressed that the true measure of development extends beyond infrastructure, investments and economic activity to include how society protects vulnerable people, safeguards the dignity of children and creates opportunities for them to thrive.
The Minister also commended the Catholic Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi, management and staff of the Home, caregivers, volunteers and other benefactors for their continued commitment to the welfare of the children. He called for stronger partnerships among government, the private sector, faith-based organisations, traditional authorities and communities to ensure that vulnerable people are not left behind. He noted that supporting a child is ultimately an investment in society’s future and expressed hope that the gesture by Olam Food Ingredients would inspire more acts of kindness and corporate social responsibility across the Western Region.
