NUTRITION-SENSITIVE AGRICULTURE (NSA)

Nutrition-sensitive agriculture is a food-based approach to agricultural development that puts nutritionally rich foods, dietary diversity, and food fortification to overcoming malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies. it ensures the production of affordable, nutritious, culturally acceptable, and safe foods in adequate quantity and quality to meet the dietary requirements of populations in a sustainable manner (FAO Nutrition-Sensitive agriculture and food systems in practice,2017)

NSA Puts nutritionally rich foods, dietary diversity, and fortification of food crops at the heart of overcoming malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies.

In this regard, a sensitization training was organized in July 2022 at Ayiem in the Mpohor District. In attendance were 49 females and 11 males. The participants included young women, nursing mothers, youth, and the elderly.
