SEKONDI CENTRE FOR NATIONAL CULTURE PROJECT REVIVED AFTER DECADES OF DELAY

After decades of anticipation, the Centre for National Culture project in Sekondi, in the Western Region, is finally set for completion.

The Project Consultant for AESL, Mr. Eric Annan, has announced that construction is expected to be completed by November 2026, bringing an end to 38 years of stalled progress.

The Western Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Nelson, visited the site to inspect ongoing works. He commended President John Dramani Mahama and the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, for their commitment to reviving and completing the long-abandoned project.

The project is expected to significantly boost arts and culture in the region, with key facilities including a craft village, administration block, and hostel accommodations, among others, which will contribute to making it a fully functional cultural centre.

The revival of the project has been widely welcomed, with strong optimism that its completion will enhance cultural development not only in the Western Region but also in neighboring regions.
