The Western Regional Coordinating Council under the Leadership of the Regional Human Resource Department organized a 4-day sensitization workshop on the rolling-out of an Electronic Attendance Clocking System in the Western Region.
In his opening remarks, the Chief Director of the Western Regional Coordinating Council, Mr. Frederick Agyemang stipulated that the system is one of the measures by the Public Service Commission to ensure efficiencies at the various government agencies for maximum productivity in the Country, he, therefore, urged everyone to take it seriously when it comes out for implementation.

Miss Charlotte Essumang, the Officer-in-charge of the Human Resources Department mentioned that the clocking system will be attached to the Controller and the Accountant General’s Department therefore staff will be paid their monthly salaries according to the number of days they report to work in the month.
To register their concerns, officers from the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly and other MMDAs stated that, the system should be flexible enough to accommodate people who may fall sick and could not come to the office, in his response, the consultant of the system, Mr. Anold Adjei alluded that all those concerns will be factored to make the system efficient for the officers. In attendance at the meeting were the Coordinating Directors, Assistant Directors, HRs, and MIS Officers from the 14 Metropolitan, Municipals, and District Assemblies across the Western Region.
