The Department of Gender has two Boy’s clubs in Ahanta West Municipal and Wassa East District Assemblies. These follow-up meetings were held with the clubs to ascertain how the club activities were supporting girls’ rights for Gender Equality and how the club activities have impacted community members engaged so far. The first of these meetings was held at Ebukrom in the Wassa East District on 19th December, 2021, and the second was held at Apowa Aworozo, Ahanta West Municipal on 20th December, 2021. A total of forty (40) participants participated in each of the sessions. This comprised of members of the club and community members engaged by members of the club.
A success story was Augustine Quaye, a member of the boy’s club who was motivated to stop his truant behavior and return to school out of the club’s engagements. This participant has successfully completed his Junior High School and awaiting support to learn a trade. He was extremely grateful for the club’s gesture. He is currently part of the club assisting with its activities.
