United States of America ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Stephanie S. Sullivan has on Monday, August 23rd paid a courtesy call on the Western Regional Minister, Dr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah.

HE Sullivan has visited the Western Region to commission the inaugurated Molecular Testing Laboratories and Public Health Emergency Operation Centre at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital for the region. While addressing the Regional Minister, she underscored the importance of good health for all and was delighted with the opportunity to perform that all-important task.  She said that her visit was to show herself to the Regional Minister before she starts her tour.

While welcoming her, Dr.  Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah expressed his gratitude to the American government and its people through HE Sullivan for supporting and investing in the health sector, and hope that other areas will be supported as well.

He emphasized that he looks forward to more economic partnerships between Ghana and the US, which will help create economic opportunities for the teeming Ghanaian youth.

He opined that this would help the US-Ghana bilateral relationship to be one of value creation as opposed to a ‘ask and deliver’ one.

He further expressed gratitude for the embassy’s participation during the Ghana Mining Week, promising an even better event in 2022.

Her Excellency Sullivan was in the company of the country director of the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) Dr. Tony Ao.

Earlier, HE Sullivan had interacted with Sekondi Hassacas Ladies FC who had visited the Regional Minister to present 3 trophies they had won in the last season. She used the opportunity to congratulate them for the feat chalked and urged them on in other endeavors.
