The President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of Essikado Traditional Area, Nana Kobbina Nketsia V, has urged the Minister of the Western Region, Joseph Nelson, to adopt a non-partisan approach in the development of the region.
The chief stressed the need for inclusive decision-making that prioritises the growth of the region over political affiliations. Notably, the Western Regional House of Chiefs has expressed support for the Minister’s efforts to tackle illegal mining in the region.

In his address to the chiefs, Mr Nelson expressed his sincere gratitude for resolving the protracted leadership crisis that had hampered the progress of the house for years.
While acknowledging that the region faces numerous challenges, he remained optimistic that with the support of the chiefs, it will flourish again.
“Nana, as your son, I am aware of the enormous task ahead of us. Previous ministers have made significant contributions, and it is now my job to build on their efforts. What will distinguish my tenure is the guidance and advice you will provide me.”
“I am committed to maintaining open communication and ensuring that our ideas are aligned to drive development in the region. I am honoured to seek your advice and guidance, particularly in light of the challenges we discussed above. Our common goal remains the development of the region,” he said.
